Employment Services

Beyond Barriers embraces and promotes the belief that every individual should have the opportunity and support needed to live and work as independently as possible. We work in cooperation with Kansas Rehabilitation Services to assist qualified individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain competitive employment. This is a cooperative effort between the job seeker, vocational rehabilitation counselor, and Beyond Barrier’s employment specialists.

These services can include:

  • Interview Skills Training

  • Resume Writing Assistance

  • Job Search Assistance

  • Intensive Support Services

  • Community-Based Work Assessments

  • Computer Training

  • Networking/Meeting Potential Employers

The Older Kansans Employment Program (OKEP)

OKEP is funded by the Kansas Legislature and is “designed to provide employment placement services to Kansans 55 years of age and older with emphasis on employment in the private sector.” (kansascommerce.gov)

Like all of our services, the OKEP is free, and is eligible to Kansans 55 or over.  We can help with things such as:

  • Resumé Preparation

  • Assistance Applying For Jobs in the Digital Age

  • Interview Coaching

  • Skills Assessment

  • Counseling and Encouragement

Contact Bob Gilbert for any questions or to get involved with the OKEP, at 620-259-5802 or email bgilbert@beyondbarriersks.com.

Beyond Barriers provides these services in Rice, Reno, Pratt, Kingman and Harper Counties.
